Spain Scholarship for Latin American Journalists Balboa, Spain de América Latina

The Balboan program, an initiative of the Dialogue Foundation of Spain, is directed at young journalists of Iberian America with proven media experience. The open convocation period is until July 15, 2011 in which the applicant can opt for a 6 month scholarship that will allow the applicant to get an inside look at the Spanish media. The program includes 220 lecture hours that take place once a week in an intensive program and 1,300 practical hours in an aspect of the media in a company, public or private institution in Madrid. In total, 20 scholarships will be awarded that include a round trip economy class ticket to Madrid from the participant’s country of residence, medical not pharmaceutical insurance, accident and repatriation insurance, and a monthly grant of 1,000 euros to cover lodging and support expenses during the 6 month program.

Requirements: 
Must be a university graduate with professional experience, younger than 32, and a national of a country that is part of the Iberian American Community of Nations (excluding Spain and Portugal.) Must actively work with the media or other institutions or Iberian American companies. The candidate must not reside in Spain or the European Union.
